Halli entisöitiin vuosina 1997-1999: klassistinen 1920-luvun tyyli on säilytettyvaatekoukkuja myöten. Aiemmin Yrjönkadulla uitiin aina alasti mutta nykyään saa halutessaan käyttää uima-asua.
Nykyaikaisiin uimahalleihin verrattuna Yrjönkatu on pikemminkin kylpylä, rauhallinen peseytymiskeidas keskellä kaupunkia. Opiskelija saa kahdella ja puolella eurolla avaimen pukulokeroon ja pääsee sukeltamaansaunasta vedenväristen kaakelien valaisemaan saliin. Saunojen lämpö on tasaisen tukeva – yläkerran saunalämpenee puulla ja aukeaa siksi vasta iltapäivällä. Ylellisintä on ostaa paikka toisen kerroksen lepohyttiin,jossa riisuudutaan verhojen suojassa ja vaihdetaan vaatteet puhtaankarheaan kylpytakkiin. Tarjoilija kiertääpöytiä, joissa kylpijät nauttivat Café Yrjön antimia.
