”Ajetaan kovaa / Motellissa jossain saat kaataa / mun napaan tequilaa” lauletaan Paula Vesalan kappaleessa Tequila. Kappale on keikkunut viime vuoden marraskuusta asti sekä radiosoittolistan että muiden soittolistojen kärkipäässä. Tämä herättääkin mielenkiintoisen kansanterveydellisen kysymyksen: onko (napa)tequilan kulutus kasvanut samalla?
Tätä kysymystä lähdin selvittämään hieman kevyemmällä otteella, eli tutustumalla Alkon nettisivuilta löytyviin myyntitilastoihin sekä Suomen musiikintuottajien tilastoihin myydyimmistä äänitteistä (ipfi.fi). Vaikka korrelaatio ei olekaan sama asia kuin kausaliteetti, on silti hauska piirrellä hassuja kuvaajia tilastoista.
Oheisessa kuvaajassa on esitetty Tequila-kappaleen radiosoittolistasijoitukset oranssilla viivalla ja tequilan myynnin muutos Alkoissa sinisillä palkeilla. Vaikka todellisesta syystä ei voidakaan mitään sanoa, on tequilan myynti Alkoissa noussut ja laskenut ainakin jossain määrin korreloiden Vesalan Tequila-kappaleen suosion kanssa. Kasvua tequilan myynnissä on tapahtunut joulukuussa sekä helmikuusta huhtikuuhun, juuri kun kappale on soinut radiossa kaikkein eniten.
Pelkästään tämän hataran korrelaation perusteella ei voi juuri mitään päätellä, mutta jos et ole tehnyt vielä syväreitä, tässä olisi yksi aihe tarjolla. Käy kuitenkin ensin Q-kautisen nettisivuilla vastaamassa siihen oleelliseen kysymykseen, eli oletko juonut napatequilaa.
